"Freedom"
By Paula Ross
Now it was getting late one night.
I heard the cry of a fierce fight;
Colonists poured tea in the sea
Like grizzly bears with all their might.
Dumping that tea was the very key
For anyone could clearly see
The taxes were too high to pay
And now was not the time to flee.
This incident led to the way
Of a historic war that day
Where soldiers died for small and tall
On the fields and ships from the bay.
The French arrived hearing our call.
Soon the Redcoats had their harsh fall,
And freedom smiled upon us all,
And freedom smiled upon s all.
